Notes: Ferocactus rectispinus is a globus to columular perennial evergreen plant in the cactus family, Cactaceae. F. rectispinus is commonly known as long spined barrel cactus and is endemic to central Baja California, Mexico. The cactus grows up to 6 feet tall and 1 foot in diameter with a deep bluish green skin. The plant also has 4 to 8 inch long central spines that are straight and not hooked at the tips, giving the species its name. Spines range in color from light gray, yellow, tan, and light red with older spines turning darker and black.
