Notes: The Prairie Rose Crabapple grows moderately into a broad oval shaped small tree. The pointy medium green leaves turn yellow in the fall. The spring flowers are what give this tree its name. Each small double pink flower starts tightly furled like a small tea rose, blooms with a deep pink color, and with time opens to a lighter pink fully double blossom about 1 across. The flowers are not followed by fruit, as they are in other Crabapples. Unfortunately, it gave up some of its disease resistance with the fruit, so it will require a little more monitoring for Fire Blight, but there is no fruit to clean up.
